Several vendors will be open during the show to offer fabrics, machines, books and quilting notions!

Our special honored guest, Sieglinde Shoen-Smith, quilt artist and author, is showcasing
her prize winning quilt “Mother Earth and Her Children”. Sieglinde’s new books will be
available for purchase and can be autographed by the author.

Also the Guild will be honoring Arlene Dickinson and Aileen Smith, two longtime members of
the Guild, by showcasing a special exhibit of their quilting over the years.

A Mini-Quilt Silent Auction will be held featuring tablerunners, wall hangings, tote bags and
more! Tickets will be on sale for $1 or 6/$5 on our 2008 Raffle Quilt – Kaleidoscope Blues".
Raffle proceeds support our Linus Blanket program and the annual scholarship awarded to a
deserving Houlton High School senior student.

New England Quilt Museum

Regular museum hours are 10 am to 4 pm Tuesday through Saturday (year round) and Sundays
12 to 4 pm (May through December only). Beginning in January and continuing through April,
the museum will be open on the 4th Friday of each month until 8:00 pm - and 4th Friday evenings
will be FREE from 4-8 pm. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for students/seniors. Museum members
are admitted free. Handicapped parking is available. Guided group tours, catered luncheons, and
group rates available with reservations.

The Whole Story: Wholecloth Quilts By Hand and Machine
April 3 - June 15, 2008

This exhibit highlights the design and beauty of the wholecloth quilt. Both hand and
machine stitching techniques are represented in quilts from the museum’s permanent
collection, private collections and invited artists. Curated by Mary Walter.

The show opens June 26 with the awards ceremony honoring the winning contest quilts and
their makers at 6:45 p.m. in the Blue Pavilion Room. The always festive Champagne and
Chocolate.


Treat yourself to a trip to the 32nd annual Vermont Quilt Festival and enjoy over 400
beautiful contemporary and antique quilts.

Several special exhibits, including antique quilts from the depression era, whimsical quilts based
on folk and fairy tales, Barbara Olson art quilts, Florence Peto quilts, and Ann Bird's
Retrospective, will inspire and move you.

The Contest Quilt exhibit comprises more quilts than ever in varying styles, techniques and
colors. And have fun with VQF's first-ever Booth Hop, sponsored by Andover Fabrics. Sign
on for lectures and workshops with nationally known quilt teachers but do check the website
first. More registrants than ever have already signed on. 

 Enjoy the free demos and free gallery talks, shop the merchants mall and the VQF booth
brimming with latest wares, and bring your antique quilts for the Saturday appraisals.
